When I originally test drove my Limited, one of the options in the approximate setup screen was to enable the "Electric current Gear" display. Prior to delivery of the vehicle, the dealer performed several flash updates to the truck. Since and then, I no longer meet the Current Gear option in the setup screen. I really like being able to see the electric current gear in the cluster. Even the owner's transmission references this pick in the menu. Does anyone know if the removal of this characteristic is the unintended byproduct of the flash update (like the update wasn't performed properly)? Or is at that place some other fashion to enable this feature (as well using the gear limit buttons)?

And so many glitches that I wouldn't exist surprised if the dealer messed something up or the update.

I've only seen the option in the cluster setup screen.

If it'southward not at that place then the dealer should fix it

There is an choice in some menu to display it BUT on my Express it would not display unless I had the card option to tag settings to keyfob (or whatsoever that was called). I originally didn't accept that gear up trying to avoid other crazy settings tied to seat retentiveness but that and a few other items didn't desire to work unless the seat memory was tied to the keyfob.

There is an pick in some card to display information technology Simply on my Limited it would non display unless I had the card option to tag settings to keyfob (or whatever that was called). I made sure that my "settings tied to keyfob" option was enabled, just I still don't have this option in my Screen Setup menu. I believe it should be next to Odometer, based on what the owner transmission says:

I made certain that my "settings tied to keyfob" option was enabled, but I however don't have this choice in my Screen Setup menu. I believe it should be next to Odometer, based on what the owner manual says:

Go into Favorites Carte. I think information technology'southward in there. Sorry out of town today and can't check in my truck.

I fabricated certain that my "settings tied to keyfob" option was enabled, but I still don't have this option in my Screen Setup menu. I believe it should exist adjacent to Odometer, based on what the owner manual says:

Yes it should say "Current Gear" in the setup screen.

It isn't. Information technology gives me the option to plow off sure menus (trailer tow, fuel economy, etc.) from the scrolling list, merely it does non include anything almost the current gear.

My bad - I misread the manual. No idea why yours doesn't have the pick. Information technology would irritate me besides, only I'm well-nigh to turn mine off. Bated from a quick dispatch run through the numbers, mine shows viii all the time.

And so you're saying that when you're stopped at a ruby-red calorie-free, it reads 8? That'due south not right. And that'southward not how it works in my other vehicles with the viii speed (and 9 speed) transmissions. Peradventure that'due south why they disabled the feature in the update that was practical to my truck?

So you're maxim that when yous're stopped at a red low-cal, it reads 8? That's not right. And that's not how it works in my other vehicles with the 8 speed (and ix speed) transmissions. Maybe that's why they disabled the characteristic in the update that was applied to my truck?

No, it shows 1-seven but my point was that aside from the ~ten seconds accelerating or braking, it likes to sit in 8th gear even at 45MPH. Now I'yard in flatland Texas so your experience could be far different. I was just remarking that since mine shows 8 so much of the fourth dimension, information technology's really non that useful.

Yup! That'south what mine looked like before the update. Pretty disappointing that information technology's gone now. Thanks for the confirmation that it should be at that place.

Not exactly ideal, but if you fix the gear limit, say to -8, it will display the electric current gear.

Non exactly ideal, just if you lot set the gear limit, say to -8, it will display the electric current gear.

The problem with this is that having the gear limit enabled volition prevent Eco mode from engaging.

Thanks so much for bringing this upwards! Our Thou Cherokee has this & I really like knowing at a glance what gear I'm in, didn't call back information technology was possible in the Ram until I read this thread. Plant it in the menu & enabled it, works great! Thanks again. :)

I demand to see if I can enable mine. I was used to seeing what gear I was in when driving my F150.

You can. I did today. I'm torn near whether I'll leave information technology turned on. I'thousand not sure why the font for the gear selection numbers is slightly smaller than the font showing "PRND", but that bugs me...
